POETRY by Olivia Dernaika, 5th Grade
Clouds’ roam
The clouds roam the skies,
But The blue sky is just the background,
The clouds are the main focus of the painting,
The artist painted elegantly,
Each stroke was as if there was a lady swooning down in love Admiring the clouds on his canvas,
Who didn’t like the painting?,
It was so focused,
So detailed,
Quite calming if you do ask me,
I admire the clouds,
They do roam the lands,
Don’t they?
Japanese Cherry Blossom
The blossoms fall,
The river is flowing wildly,
The smell of flowers fills our lungs,
I sneeze,
You giggle that sweet laugh of yours,
Your beautiful,
Your wild,
Your sweet,
Your funny,
You're my Japanese cherry blossom
Cows
My eyes graze over the plains in front of my eyes,
The cows stand on the fields,
munching on grass happily,
Their hooves sink into the ground,
Mud on their feet,
Tails waving lazily
Words that bubble up like soda pop
When I see you,
My emotions begin to bubble,
When I talk to you,
I can’t make out actual sentences,
All my words begin to bubble,
I begin to stammer,
And I seem to lose all my speaking manner,
So because I cannot speak to you because I always start to stammer,
So,
I wrote this poem,
That is dedicated to your glamor.
Honeybee
You are a honeybee,
You are sweet,
You always smell like flowers,
Everything you wear seems to have a floral pattern on it,
I love the patterns you wear,
They are always so calm, cheerful, and positive,
I love it when you dance,
You enjoy dancing so much,
You always have a positive attitude,
I love your every action,
You are my honeybee.
